Theresa Sareo is a singer with a powerful story to tell; a story of survival, inspiration and proof that being passionate about your dreams can mean the very essence of one's survival.  After being hit by a drunk driver in midtown Manhattan in June, 2002, Theresa awoke in a hospital bed being told that she survived a horrific car accident which claimed her entire right leg.  After months of grueling physical and emotional rehabilitation, she began the long journey of reclaiming her life and impressive singing career, which reads as follows:

Theresa Sareo's voice can be powerful and tender, her music driving and flowing.  Although this singer was raised in Elmira, NY, she calls New York City her home.  Fittingly, the images in her music reflect both the the intensity of the big city and the down-to-earth simplicity of the small town.

Following a period of indie/dance music success, she is currently a staple on the NYC singer/songwriter circuit, appearing in venues including The Bitter End, Hard Rock Cafe and the Hammerstein Ballroom.  She's enjoyed successful debuts throughout Europe including Germany, Spain, England and Italy.  She's written and performed music for renowned artist/painter Mark Kostobi and authors Betty Eadie and Dr. M. Scott Peck.

Theresa is a frequent visitor/performer at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C., which was the inspiration for her widely popular, powerful single, "Through A Soldier's Eyes."  She regularly performs at military conventions, fundraisers and bases including Forts Bragg, Lee, Eustis, Monmouth, Hamilton, Gordon, The Fighting 69th and MacDill Air Force Base, and at VA Hospitals along the eastern seaboard including Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, The Brooklyn Campus of the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System and James A. Haley VA in Tampa.  She is a favorite performer for AFCEA (Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association) with her second appearance at LandWarNet in Ft. Lauderdale in August.  Theresa very proudly made history as the first civilian to sing the National Anthem at Walter Reed Army Hospital for their 100th Anniversary Celebration on May 1, 2009 and was honored by the hospital's Chaplain's Department for her devoted work with the wounded troops who recover there.  She has also been personally invited by General Carter Ham; Commanding General of U.S. Army Europe, to visit with troops recovering from Iraq and Afghanistan at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center near Ramstein AFB in Germany, as well as other medical facilities throughout Europe.  Her Spring Tour has been confirmed for May, 1, 2010.

Theresa is an in-demand public speaker who has appeared with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on health care issues; with top military leaders at conventions and benefits for wounded troops country-wide; at medical symposiums for leading trauma hospitals; at prisons as a crime victim survivor sharing her story with her music; at English Language Schools using art, poetry and music as communicational tools; and throughout the corporate community to inspire those navigating life challenges within the work environment.

She collaborated with the legendary Blood, Sweat & Tears, both in the studio and on stage.  She sang background on David Clayton-Thomas' 911 tribute, "The Lights of Broadway" and joined the band in concert at Westbury Music Fare last summer.

Theresa was also involved with Swirling Records' CDs, Soap Sessions, Vol. 1 & II, which features songs performed by five popular daytime soap opera actors.  As well as a background vocalist, she is showcased as a songwriter and a featured singer, sharing a duet with All My Children's Vincent Irizzary.  She also produced a track sung by Regis and Kelly's Kelly Ripa.  Visit Swirling Records for more info.
Her original "Love Inside of You" was aired on Seton Hall University's radio station, WSOU, 89.5FM, in dedication to the students and families involved in the fire at Seton's Boland Hall.  It is included on her CD Rom, Embrace.
Theresa's Embrace CDRom is a compilation of 12 pop/rock, ballad and r&b songs.  It also boasts a slick, provocative music video of the title track, Embrace.  This self-produced, recorded and mixed CD showcases Theresa as a full-ranged and stylish singer/songwriter/performer. It can be listened to and purchased at CDBaby.com and

As well as Embrace, her first CD/EP,  Theresa Sareo, was also produced by Theresa and engineered by drummer, Ethan Hartshorn.  This debut CD features seasoned musicians including guitarist Nick Moroch and pianist Tracy Stark.  It highlights her technical and emotional range and includes the billboard contest winning song "Time Flies".  It has been hailed as "warm, moving and passionate".
Theresa organized and headlined a 9/11 benefit concert which raised thousands of dollars for her local fire house;  Engine 16, Ladder 7's WTC Fund in NYC, and regularly makes special guest appearances at various Law Enforcement affairs for New York's Police and Fire Departments.
Inspired by the traditional NY-based singer/songwriter circle, Theresa started one of her own.  NY Songwriters' Stories is a forum of support and exposure for fellow independent recording artists.  Hosted by Theresa, it features two other singer/songwriters and is booked at various NYC venues.
Aside from her singer/songwriter performances, she can be heard singing jazz and pop covers in the NY-Metro area's most popular restaurants.  Catch her next at Anna Maria's in Larchmont, NY on Nov. 19.
Theresa recently released her third album "Alive Again" and is happy to be featuring such talent giants as guitarist Jon Herington from Steely Dan, Saturday Night Live drummer Shawn Pelton and bluegrass/gospel group, Ollabelle.  In this 12 song CD, Theresa passionately sings about topics ranging from coping with her loss, to her staple love ballads, to stories about people who've touched her life.  She continues in the melodic pop/rock/country styles.
Theresa recently co-wrote the song "I Want To Feel It All" with Craig Butler for the Cooley's Anemia Foundation to help find a cure for the blood disease, Thalassemia.  Here it on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCFHqOQ5ljI.
She also teaches songwriting workshops to disabled young women at the Hospital for Joint Disease in NYC.
Using her wide-range of musical experience and versatility, Theresa is a private vocal teacher.
